Black Static #47 is now off at the printers and will be mailing out to subscribers in a week or so. Andy will be along shortly to quote chapter and verse on the delights it contains, but in the meantime here I am to whet your appetite by revealing the full contents of the Case Notes book review section of this issue.

Here's what we've got for you:-

A THREE COURSE FEAST: THE RECENT FICTION OF RAY CLULEY

Reviews of The Curse of the Zombie, Probably Monsters, and Within the Wind, Beneath the Snow plus an interview with writer, the complete package masquerading as a banquet of sorts. And elsewhere in the issue there should be a story by Ray Cluley, so if none of this stuff convinces you to check him out, then maybe that will.

GRAY FRIAR PRESS

Reviews  of three recent anthologies from this Yorkshire based publisher, Terror Tales of Wales and Terror Tales of Yorkshire, both edited by Paul Finch, and Horror Uncut, edited by Joel Lane and Tom Johnstone.

TANITH LEE

Reviews of Blood 20: Tales of Vampire Horror, Death of the Day, and Colder Greyer Stones, all by Tanith Lee, who sadly passed away in May this year.

NOT SO SMALL BEGINNINGS

A review of The Spectral Book of Horror Stories, edited by Mark Morris.

This issue I reviewed ten titles in all, three of which were written by a woman, taking our totals for the year so far to sixty one titles reviewed and fifteen of them with a female byline (25%).

That compares with one hundred and eighteen books received for review so far this year, twenty seven and a half of them with a female byline (23%).
