Henry James' novella The Turn of The Screw is one of the horror genre's masterworks, even if you won't get the literary mainstream to admit it, a psychological ghost story of the first order.
In 1954 Benjamin Britten wrote an opera based on the James' story, and this October English National Opera are staging The Turn of The Screw at the London Coliseum. There will be six performances in total, with the first on the 22nd of October and the last on the 9th of November. Unfortunately there isn't one on the night of Halloween, which seems like a missed marketing opportunity.
