Black Static

Horror Black Static issue 26 out now

The Arthur Conan Doyle Weirdnight

16th Jul, 2010

Author: Peter Tennant

This is a bit short notice, but sometimes short notice is all you get. Horror fans and boy scouts should be prepared at all times.

While it may have been overshadowed by his Sherlock Holmes stories and novels, Arthur Conan Doyle was also an accomplished writer of weird and supernatural fiction.

To mark the publication by Silver Age Books of The Arthur Conan Doyle Weirdbook, edited by Rafe McGregor, Oxfam Books and Music Moseley will be hosting a night of Conan Doyle-related terror at the Prince of Wales pub, Alcester Road, Moseley Village, Birmingham, on Saturday the 17th of July starting at 7.30pm.

Attendees are promised readings from the anthology, books to buy and win, plus sundry other alarums and excursions (big hint - it's in a pub), and the cost of admission is to donate a book in good condition to be sold at Oxfam Books. All proceeds from the night (except possibly those from the bar) will go to Oxfam.
