Not really promotion rather a request for feedback.

My story 'Boxed In' is in the BFS journal, it was the first story I submitted (over a year ago now -- it got turned down by IZ first) and I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism. Most of my stories that have appeared elsewhere were either flash fic or very short.

I feel like a wee boy for asking but nevertheless...

Ta much :D

Boxed In by Marc-Anthony Taylor

“It was another boy about the same age as me, I felt him settle into the back of my head.”
In this well-written, -characterised, -conceived and substantial SFtopia, we have a pimping trade in empathy-provision (my expression, not the story’s). A provision by bodily-occupation or mind-sharing, plus all the subtle synergies between. Empathy by ‘boxing’ that also, serendipitously, synergises with the previous ‘incry’ boxing described earlier in my real-time review of the BFS Journal . Giving a thrill for OCD dwellers as a rollercoaster in a non-OCD world. And it’s far more than that. Bravo! for this story. And Bravo! for the editorial gestalting so far (whether intentional or not) in the NEW HORIZONS section of the BFS Journal book.

[As an aside, and as some of you may know, I keep seeking a gestalt within all my real-time reviews. And HEREis a story I wrote many years ago entitled Gestalt - one that I hope is relevant in this context of Marc's wonderful story. It was once published in a small press mag (perhaps with a different title) in the 90s, but I've lost trace of it. Anyone help?]

Shamelessly hoping to draw readers in, I've a short chapbook of four stories available for free download at Smashwords.

It's called Mrs Mathews is Afraid of Cricket Bats, and it can be found here:

Shameless self-promotion off... :)

I posted an experimental story on my blog - you'll see why I put it there instead of submitting it anywhere when you read it. It has flying boats in it. And Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, and Queen Victoria. And it's sf too. See here.

Just sold a short modern fantasy/slipstream piece to 'Fantastique Unfettered' magazine. Should be in the next issue.

I've also got a horry story called 'A Day at the Beach' in the newly published 'Day Terrors' anthology http://www.theharrowpress.com/day-terrors/, and a short story called 'Walls of Confinement' in the audiobook 'Doctor Who - Short Trips Volume 2' http://www.bigfinish.com/02-Doctor-Who-Short-Trips-Volume-2

I'm in an eBook reprinting stories from the '90s magazine Kimota. Tons of other authors in there as well, including top SF, Fantasy and Horror novelists such as Mark Chadbourn, Neal Asher, Mark Morris, Stephen Gallagher and Stephen Laws. So you don't just have to put up with my rubbishy stories.

Apparently there's some bloke called Peter Tennant in there as well...

With three stories, no less. But don't you just look at that ToC and wonder where some of those people went?
