If not you, Neil, I'm sure we could safely include Jim Hawkins. Suspect he's away at the moment, but reckon he'd be game. Easily fixed in the event I'm wrong.

Let's pencil Jim in then. I can take up the slack if someone drops out, but for now we have a full roster! I'll post details soonish about how it'll work - paying cash, making the draw, how the prizes will be divied up.

So...
In almost exactly two weeks time I imagine many of us will be nipping out of work a little early, slipping into the nearest pub with a telly and watching Poland taking on Greece, so I say we begin the build up here and now.
The rules are simple (and as close to the last couple of times as I can remember): 1.Each player pays £5 entry fee to the administrator via paypal. 2.The administrator arranges a sweepstake draw conducted by an impartial and well-loved public figure whereby each player is randomly allocated a competing team. 3.At the end of the tournament the players whose teams achieve the top four places will receive the following split of the pot: (edited because Neil couldn't count...) Winner - £40 Losing Finalist - £20 Losing semifinalists (x2) - £10 (they don't have a 3rd/4th play off in the Euros).
The players are: 1. Ian Hunter 2. Ross Warren 3. Des Lewis 4. Chris Murdoch 5. Roy Gray 6. Darren Gallagher 7. Bob Lock 8. Andy Cox 9. Andy Hedgecock 10. Mike Alexander 11. Lynda Rucker 12. Jim Steel 13. Max Hedgecock 14. Stephen Theaker 15. Vaughan Stanger 16. Jim Hawkins
The teams are: 1. Czech Republic 2. Greece 3. Poland 4. Russia 5. Denmark 6. Germany 7. Netherlands 8. Portugal 9. Croatia 10. Italy 11. Republic of Ireland 12. Spain 13. England 14. France 15. Sweden 16. Ukraine
If that all sounds okay to everyone you can start sending your entry money to my paypal any time you like: williamsonnl [at] googlemail.com. We'll arrange the draw once everyone's all paid up. If you've got any quibbles, now's the time to say.

Just sent the payment. I think the prizes need reworking, though - there will only be £80 in the pot in total. I'm guessing that's because last time the sweepstake was for the World Cup and so there were more teams, and more slots.

Stephen - you're absolutely right. There's only 16 teams, not 32. I knew there was something wrong.
Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I'll amend the original post accordingly.
(And I've gone with 40, 20, 10, 10, because it gives 3rd and 4th a little more than their money back. Hope that's okay.)

Good stuff guys. If we can all pay up this week we'll look to making the draw next weekend I reckon.

Amanda Hedgecock has, I'm informed, paid for Andy and Max Hedgecock. Thanks Neil.
