At Fantasycon 2008 I learned that the World Horror Convention (WHC) will be here in Brighton over the weekend 25–28 March 2010. (Royal Albion Hotel, on the front by the Palace Pier) No website yet, so no link.

A week later the 2010 Eastercon ODYSSEY (2–5 April), GOH’s include Interzone alumni, Alastair Reynolds and Liz Williams, is back at Heathrow.

I’m not keen to spend 2 such close weekends at cons but the first is an ideal opportunity to promote Black Static internationally, along with TTA books like Alison and Islington Crocodiles, and the second should be good for Interzone with those guests.

2010 is a long way off, yet, but has anyone been to a WHC. Obviously Brighton is unlikely to be the biggest WHC ever but how many people normally go when it is in the US? Is there a big and busy dealer’s room? What to do, that’s the quandary.

I think we can assume that this tool won't be there:

i'd definetly head down to brighton for it. nice that theyre actually stepping outside of north america with it. it always seemed to me to be a bit like the 'world' baseball series

WHC in Brighton is a dead cert for me...


It'd be a real shame if there was no T3A presence in the dealers' room.

No offence, Andy, but perhaps you ought to consider stepping up to bat for IZ at 2010 Eastercon?
