Post subject:  Amazon *is* Big Brother

I've read that due to a Rights violation with regard to both Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm, Amazon has removed from it's Kindle store. Fair enough, cannot argue with that, but this is where things get iffy:

Amazon are able to effectively delete any title from a customer's machine - and have done with regard to the above, and then automatically issued a refund.

WTF? Electronic or otherwise, when I buy a book - it's mine; I'm not "leasing" it indefinitely until some other person decides otherwise.

Does Apple have the same technology with regard to it's iTunes service and iPods - can it delete any track from a customer's iPod?

Even though I am open-minded when it comes to e-readers and e-books, there is a distinct whiff of naughtiness here.
