I was made aware of this site:
http://www.readitswapit.co.uk/TheLibrary.aspx
where you can list books that you've read and no longer need. People then contact you if they see a book they want and allow you to see their library of books that they are willing to swap. Or, you can search the site for something you want and ask for a swap, allowing the person you contact to see your own library.
Seems very handy and I already have one swap in progress for a SF book I've been searching for. And it's free, you only pay the postage for the book you send.

That looks really good, Bob. I'm going to get some books on there and see what happens.

So you want people to cover the books with suntan lotion before they send them to you...

Well, you know, I wouldn't want me books getting sunburned.

Course, I've tried getting folks to insert pizza slices in the pages before, but that didn't work...

There are people who give away their pizza???

I am shocked to my core

And as for not getting your books sunburnt, perhaps if you didn't have them bound in human skin...

Just a thought

Received my fifth swap today and every book has been in good condition. My 'to read' pile is beginning to get quite big!

This has to stop or I'll never sell any of our new stuff at cons.

Looks exactly the same as bookmooch.com, although many of the that site's members are in the US and unwilling to post overseas.

Ah. Having investigated, I see there are differences... You can only swap a book if the person you want to swap from wants one of your books. On Bookmooch, you earn points by giving away books and spend them by mooching books off others. Seems a better system to me. What if there are 5 copies of a book that I want on Read It Swap It, but I don't have a book to swap that any of those 5 people want? I'm stuffed...
