I won't write anything about this.

You didn't look hard enough, Roy! Jeff's cover is the 1978 one (and also an Italian one further down) Two scary things here, will it really be thirty years next year since this excellent album was released? My God, where did the time go?
Secondly, what the hell was that German illustrator reading when he did the cover for the 1974 book? The bloody robot looks like a kid's toy!

Nice to know that the version I picked up from ... somewhere is the 1967 Penguin edition.

Any votes on favourite covers, or is that too 'X-factor'?

We're going to see Mr Wayne's entourage on Monday, so I have to give the 1978 cover my vote. It's the default cover as far as I'm concerned.

This is worth listening to. You have six days as there is no podcast.

If you are short of time the last 10 minutes is about Jeff's opus.

Now we know where he'll be in 2010
I'll be at the Manchester arena show in December.

The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage! 2010 Tour Tickets went on General Sale TODAY!

Quote:
Back by phenomenal demand, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds – Alive on Stage! is returning to major arenas around the UK & Europe from November 2010 to January 2011.

Following the critically acclaimed sell-out tours in 2006, 2007 and 2009, singing and acting sensation JASON DONOVAN, Atomic Kitten’s LIZ McCLARNON and Moody Blues’ JUSTIN HAYWARD will star in the highly anticipated new production, featuring EXCITING NEW INGREDIENTS!

The show is narrated by an 11-foot high 3D Hologram of RICHARD BURTON, and includes the incredible 35 foot Martian Fighting Machine!

JEFF WAYNE will again conduct the 10-piece Black Smoke Band and 36-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings.

I suppose it should be in the events section but I'll recycle an old thread.
