Loved "The Mahe Circle" by Georges Simenon and am now reading "Where Furnaces Burn" by Joel Lane - already halfway through and loving it as expected.

Loved "Where Furnaces Burn" and since I've posted here I've also read Joel's collection of poems, "Trouble In The Heartland". I've also finished Christopher Priest's "The Extremes" which I was reading at work and enjoyed that too.

Currently reading short story collections: "Use Once, Then Destroy" by Conrad Williams at work, and V H Leslie's "Skein and Bone" at home.

Haven't posted here in a while. I read V.H.Leslie's collection, "Skein and Bone", which I thought was a mixed bag, "Hotel Iris" by Yoko Ogawa which I enjoyed, "Oui: The Paranoid-Critical Revolution: Writings 1927-1933" by Salvador Dali which I really enjoyed, and "Taylor Swift: The Unofficial Story: Platinum Edition" (yes, this old punk does have a wide musical range!) which was interesting.

Currently reading Conrad Williams "Use Once, Then Destroy" at work and "Where Angels Fear To Tread" by E.M.Forster at home.

Since I was last here I've read "Where Angels Fear To Tread" by E.M.Forster and am reading "A Drifting Life" (a semi-autobiographical graphic novel) by Yoshihiro Tatsumi.

Until then, I'm re-reading one of Clive Barker's 'Books of Blood'. One of the stories, 'The Age of Desire', was mentioned somewhere in a Coil interview, so I thought I'd remind myself of it.

I got 'Ice' (Anna Kavan) for my birthday a couple of months back. Really enjoyed the book but found the last 30-odd pages a bit of a struggle. I've just started 'The Hearing Trumpet' by Leonora Carrington (another gift from a kind soul) and it's strange and funny.

Both of those books are on my shelves to be read, Julie.

I just finished "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" by Michael Chabon which was overwritten and execrable, although some seem to like it. Currently reading Chester Himes' "If He Hollers Let Him Go" which is a real page turner.
