'll probably read your book next Cate, as I'm sure you wouldn't do anything inappropriate to a 'Pete', unlike some I could mention

All Pete's are safe in my book (phew!)

Now reading "Theatre of Curious Acts" by Cate Gardner, and no Petes abused as yet.

I am suitably embarrassed.

On the other hand, Cate, if you could just abuse a few Petes in your next one, that could take the heat off quite nicely... :D

Managed to finish off the two anthologies I was dipping into - Book of Horrors and Best Horror twenty-latest, which means I can get back to The Passage (can't help disliking the title, but so far it's enjoyable) and the Stephen King I wasn't supposed to have started yet.

Just as I think I'm catching up, a whole load of collections I 'accidently' ordered for myself arrive, so not sure how long the focus can be maintained on novels before another group of short stories distracts me.

Just finished "Barbed Wire Hearts" by Cate Gardner. Review of this and two other titles to follow in Black Static #27.

And finally made a start on "Best Horror of the Year Volume 3", edited by Ellen Datlow - as 2011 draws to a close I figure I should find out what was good about 2010.

Eek! Oh who am I kidding, I'm stoked whether the reviews are good or bad.

Reading Alexandra Sokoloff's 'The Harrowing'. So many people have recommended her work I figured I should pick up one of her books. About half way through. Enjoying it.

There's no truth to this rumour then, that people who give you bad reviews disappear off the face of the earth shortly after...

Oh, that part's true. A bus appears with something Greek on the front and that's the end of them.
