New horror film from the makers of "Saw" and "Paranormal Activity", out in the UK this week though apparently it's already the most profitable film of the year (not sure what time scale is meant by 'year'). Article and trailer here:-
Sounds like something I'd enjoy, but probably not watch until it turns up on Sky, and then spend the whole film worrying about whether the kids can hear it in their rooms.
I remember spending one night terrified as a kid by the sounds of Tommy coming up from below...
Saw this yesterday and enjoyed it. A horror film that can genuinely scare you seems to be the holy grail, and the first hour of Insidious did that, but I thought it tried too hard in the end. They packed every single horror movie trope they could find into it (subverting some cleverly on the way) and I feel that less could have been more with this. The family drama was kind of left behind and it just became more and more ridiculous. Shame, as it had the potential to ground those real moments of terror in a solid story. Still, I'd recommend it for a classic haunted house thrill ride in the first hour alone.
