My friend and I were struck by recent ITV trails for COLD BLOOD and FALLEN ANGEL. From the look and feel, they could be the same programme.

Verdict on FALLEN ANGEL anyone? For me too unbelievable. Good concept - from Pinter's BETRAYAL - tell the story backwards. Well made and well acted throughout. But too much plot and sub plot crammed in. Not enough character and no insight after three 90-minute eps into what went into the psychology of a murderer, really. I mean; dead pigeons? Not many people who commit murder have a pagan sacrifice in their background. Kitchen sink drama in that, everything but the kitchen sink was thrown in (e.g. child abuse) in the hope some of it would make sense.

I caught the middle-section - missed the first part, and wanted to watch Life on Mars more so didn't bother with the third. I did, think, though that at 260min long, it was far too long (even when you factored in the ad-breaks).

The pacing was far too pedestrian: TV execs seem to equate running time with quality these days.
