Saw it yesterday morning. Really enjoyed it, but don't try thinking about it too much: the plot is total bobbins.

Sam Worthington is great but the usually great Bale is marginally better than average and he comes close to growling most of his lines in that silly Batman talking through a mouth of gravel voice.

The cameo is a highpoint and some of the bet cgi i've seen to date.

Though this travesty of a film will follow Worthington wherever he goes from now on in the action/adventure movie arena, I have to agree with you on Bale. I sometimes wonder if he has a speech impediment.

This movie should not have been made. It only tarnished the reputation of the originals (and here I thought nothing could damage the franchise's rep more than T3: Judgment Day. Boy, was I wrong).

I thought the film depressing, a complete waste of some good effects. Which is to say, where was the story? It was like they'd taken some terminator, i robot, the great escape, some fallout 3, stuck it all in a blender, tipped it all away and used the dregs. I mean...

And by the way, is it just me or was the tape he played back at the beginning different to the original? It would have taken ten minutes to get at least that right.

Saw it last night and it wasn't as bad as I'd feared. I assumed there were several tapes and he was not playing the same one.

I prefered it to the recent Star Trek movie.

It was just the pace and content of that first tape I meant.

Didn't like the Star Trek? How come?

Actually, I'd quite like to know, too. So far, yours is the only other voice I've heard not declaring the new Star Trek movie to be The Best Thing Ever. I thought I was all alone...

I'm surprised by the reactions of Star Trek. The STAR TREK movie was fabulous, plot, story, pace and effects. The quality of the acting was pretty good, too. Especially for an introduction into how the whole universe started. I could not have asked for a better prequel.

My two cents:

Star Trek wins for "rebooting" an old franchise, and injecting it with something different. Something fresh to "engage" the viewer and bring with it a scientific, futuristic appeal. I can't wait for the next one, or at least see where Abrams goes with it.

Terminator on the other hand pretty much destroyed "their" franchise, by injecting a dose of terrible acting, horribly wasted special effects, lack of plotting, and a totally mixed-up, hard-to-follow and believe storyline which does not fit correctly within the John Connor timeframe in the first place.

Star Trek seemed a bit incoherent to me.
I know it's in the old TV series but for me there was too much rough house/ brawling. The characterisation scenes were so crude.
They should have made Uhuru the captain and left JTK as first officer.

I could have come up with a more plausible method of getting the thing restarted. Supernovae produce black holes so you don't stop them with another black hole.

Meeting someone in the middle of an almost uninhabited planet after you land at a random point, too much coincidence. Easy to correct but lazy plotting I thought.

I'm keen to see what Nick makes of ST the Reboot and T4. Plenty of US father/son relationships for Nick to find some comedy.

Well, this has at least answered a question I had about T4: Is it worth the half-hour drive and six-fifty to go see it at the cinema?

I'll wait for the DVD and get some Ben & Jerry's.

I heard he just put two bullets into Governor Schwarzenegger. The only thing he had on him--apart from the gun--was a VHS of the original Terminator film with, 'this is my statement' written on it.
