No useful info at all I'm afraid Suzanne, they don't even accept responsibility. "We don't actually deliver them." Er, no.

I had much more to say. Must indeed be stressed. Maybe later. Thanks again for your patience and understanding!

My subscription ended with 216. My heart is willing to maintain the subscription, but unfortunately my fiscal resources are tight at the moment. In fairness, all of my subs have lapsed.

That said, IZ is at the top of the list of subs to renew. All the more so since I can no longer find them on the shelves here in Missouri.

Sorry to hear about the trouble with IZ 217.

Respects,
S. F. Murphy

Hi SFM good to hear from you despite your sub having lapsed.
I sold the last available IZ 210 at Worldcon. You are officially out of stock.

We do have some Iz 201, 2, 3, 4 & 5's in the US, no 201's and 4's here now, just in case anyone is interested.

Thanks for the head's up everyone. Maybe they are trickling through now.

Hi Andy

Sorry to only get back to you now been extremely ill.
Checked the PO Box yesterday and still no go I'm afraid :(

In the meantime I need to renew both my IZ and BS subs - can I do this online without having to send through a cheque and paper and filled out forms and stuff? :)

I'll keep you posted on IZ 217.

This must be an absolute nightmare for you - I know with Something Wicked if I were to lose the entire subs mailing order it would be a complete catastrophe.

Keep well
Joe

I received my subscription copy of 217 in this mail this afternoon. Since Gardner Dozois mentioned that his copy arrived on Monday, I'm guessing its hitting mailboxes in the eastern U.S. this week.

Update: Over on the Asimov's forum, Dave Truesdale said his copy also arrived today, while on the Fantasy and Science Fiction forum a reader named galaxie500 said his copy arrived in Croatia on August the 1st.

Hi, Jason Sanford, I think that your story is one of the best in issue 217 (in fact I think it's one of the best published in Interzone this year along with Rivera's, Mc Intosh's and Stoddard novella). I liked the idea and the writing, and that's rare find these days. Mundane issue didn't work for me, not because I don't like stories set on Earth having to do with contemporary issues or whatever ˝mundane˝is supposed to be, but for the lack of good stories (with the exception of Yarbro's and Vonarburg's stories, Yarbro's idea and the style, and Vonarburg's good writing). I really like Ryman's writing (The Child Garden and numeruos stories), but I think he could do better in trying to present "mundane" movement.
217 is on the other hand full of good stories, the only one I could do without is Hobson's.
And by the way, I have some experience in reading and reviewing short and long fiction. (I read F&SF, Asimov's and Analog regularly).
Oh, and people from Interzone, just to tell you, my order from Amazon is also late, so it's not only you having trouble with postal services.

Thanks for that galaxie500. Can I ask are you a subscriber or do you get IZ via Amazon or Fictionwise?

It's good to hear from a reader in Croatia.

I'm a subscriber. This is my first year and I think that magazine is very good, it is good looking (cover art, format and illustrations), better than any American, with good stories (I knew that before, because I read two old Interzone anthologies and one of my favourite stories of all time is Isabel of the Fall). I considered subscribing few years ago, but then magazine was in trouble, and after that I didn't have time to read (even today I haven't read most of my 2006 and 2007 issues of Asimov's and Analog, although I try to read F&SF regularly). And this year I changed my job, so I have higher sallary and all the time in the world, so I thought I could at last subscribe to Interzone.
And I didn't regret.
I hope that you continue doing a great job and I think I'll stay a subscriber many years in the future.
(I have been subscribed to Asimov's and F&SF for twelve or thirteen years now and I've been reading SF for thirty years now, and had been a columnist in Croatian SF magazine Futura for few years, reviewing stories and books).
