I haven't heard of "real time review" before.
Am I right to think it is when you record the date and time of writing the review?

Biased or not, Des, one of the best reviews I've ever had! Thank you.

Paul,
Yes, I record (gradually within the review itself) the date & time of reading each bit of a book and then reviewing that bit at that time...until the whole review is complete over days or weeks of adding bits to it. It seems to me a logical way to review. Your own view changes and evolves as you read a book and a real-time review reflects that as you write and then post the next bit of the review.
All my real-time revieews so far are linked from:

Des
thanks for explaining that. I was hoping there would be a bit more to it than just simply recording the time you're writing.
So its a way of showing how opinions evolve. Whereas normally you'd edit out and delete something you originally thought of and be left with the final.

For me, it's not quite as simple as a record of an evolution but the best way to discover a gestalt from the leit-motifs of a book.

I think I might have a go at that.

Ok
I think I would have a go at The Price by Alexandra Sokoloff.
Andy went through such a lot of trouble getting these books so a detailed review is only fitting.
The first installment of the Real time review is up at my wordpress page below.
The summary is so far so good.
Look out for further updates!

I am just wondering what a is road weed curry, at the start of the Carole Johnstone story?
I've had Biriyani, Rogan Josh, Tikka Massala - but what is "road-weed" ?

Perhaps 'road-kill' curries are for the carnivorous gourmets amongst us? Cat dopiaza is a favourite

I suspect, on reflection, that it is probably a pejorative term for vegetarian curry?

Afraid you're right, Paul!
My sister's a rampant veggie, and I'm ashamed to say that I label just about everything she eats as road weed something-or-other.
(Well, in my defence, it always looks about as appetising)
