I thought it was a very strong issue, with the favourite for me being Still Life, by McCaffery. I really enjoyed How the 60s Ended, too, by Lees. But I had a good time with all of them. Gentry and Baldwin for favourite illustrations.

My only problem is reading the darn thing too fast. My walls have chalk lines marking the days till the next issue...

I thought #24 was a very strong issue. Absolutely loved Tim Lees' How the Sixties Ended. Dark and melancholic. Favourite of the issue, followed by Ramsey's and then the McCaffery. But they were all good. And Volk, Fowler, and O'Driscoll were in top form. A splendid issue, Andy!

My initial thought of there being a psychopath theme seemed unfounded.
Having now read all the stories there are 2 on the theme of psychopath and 2 on the theme of ghost story.
And curiously enough a crossover story about an ancient demon updated into the modern world. Which I felt to be both ghostly and psychopath.

All the columns were excellent as usual. You really can't fault them or the reviews.

Dermot - quietly chilling story. I love that we know so much less about the background than that which other writers might have flung at us. Less in this case certainly meaning more. It's really quite a horrific story about how far society might go to protect itself and how complicit we might be willing to be.

A Summer's Day - Intruiging. Again, the actual background and circumstances not explained which added to the story for me. The ending perfect.

Recently Used - a well-written tale, but it felt quite familiar territory, without adding much apart from the actual quality of the prose.

Still Life - A great idea, well set up which seemed a little rushed and too convenient at the end. I wasn't entirely sure of the 'jackel's' motives for keeping him quiet, other than being a plot device.

How The 60s Ended - So simple, yet so effective. Loved it! And the last two paragraphs were a summation of so much in so few words. My favourite this issue.
