As with Interzone, please let us know when your copy arrives. Naturally we want this to be as quickly as possible and the feedback helps us improve the service if we can. Thanks!

Hi There
I've not yet recieved my copy in South Africa.
Normally I wouldn't worry about it except that Interzone 212 arrived about two weeks ago.
I checked my mail on Wednesday but there was nothing there.
I'll check again tomorrow or monday.
Just thought you should know.
Cheers
J

Still no sign of #1 in the States. Has any one else over here received it yet?

Nathan,
No sign of it in Michigan, but hopefully Joe's last post is an indication the posties are back on the road.

It's not the posties, it's DHL Global Mail, and since negotiations between them and me appear to have broken down I have no hesitation in blaming them for everything. They tell me that they're doing nothing different since taking over from Mercury but the fact remains that since they absorbed Mercury delivery times, especially to the USA, have lengthened considerably. A lot of stuff has not arrived at all, which of course has to be replaced at the publisher's expense. Our business, our reputation, your satisfaction, means nothing to DHL. We're looking for an alternative.
Meanwhile, I hope we start to see reports of arrival soon...

Here are DHL Global Mail's approximate delivery times to various parts of the world.
http://www.dhl-globalmail.com/dpgm?tab= ... xmlFile=54
We use 'standard' delivery because, as you can see, there's very little difference between that and the more expensive 'priority', and delivery time within the UK itself is about five days anyway.
Overseas readers will be amazed. As I told DHL Global Mail again this morning, there is no way magazines are arriving anywhere in approximately those times, especially North America where they seem to be taking several weeks. It's an incredible difference and clearly DHL are not delivering the service they promise, not that they seem to mind. They refuse to compensate me for a recent mailing in which a lot of copies failed to arrive at all and for which replacements had to be sent.
However, they have promised me that they will send our next two mailings 'priority'. That's to North America only -- sorry, I tried. On the face of it that would be a difference in delivery of just four days, but it'll be interesting to see what happens. Delivery should, at least, be quicker.
What we do after that I'm afraid I'm not sure. I asked. If the 'priority' delivery time turns out to be approximately ten days (to the USA) it sounds like they'd expect us to pay the 'priority' rate despite receiving the 'standard' service.
So, for the next two mailings -- Black Static 2 and Interzone 213 -- I'm looking forward to your reports of arrival. I'll let you know the exact date DHL Global Mail pick the copies up from TTA Towers. Thanks.

Still no sign of BS 1 in Iowa. If it takes much longer, I can buy a copy in London, as I'll be there in two weeks!

One thing I forgot to say. DHL's stated delivery time of approximately 10 days to North America is from collection to delivery. Black Static 1 was collected on the 1st October.

Hi Andy,
No sign of my copy, down here in SW France.
I took out a “dual” subscription on 5th Jan 2006 (ref: 151371913).
This was a renewal of my "Interzone" sub – and that worked out fine Plus a sub to “Black Static” – so, maybe this has slipped between the cracks?
Best regards ...... Dennis

Another copy on its way Dennis. It'll leave here tomorrow with the IZ213 mailing.

And with Ellen's report of receiving it (hopefully through the mail and not as a hand-delivery during WFC), perhaps DHL is getting their act together and learning how to count to ten.
