Just uploaded Interzone 241 to Smashwords and now you can download. Stories from Sean McMullen and Aliette de Bodard and 3 others plus Nick Lowe's verdict on Prometheus; what's not to like? The Fictionwise version has been uploaded but won't go 'live' until the 18th or 25th. Amazon next and then Black Static 29. Smashwords took up the cover but then said "We don't support the type of file you uploaded, a 'application/octet-stream' " and set its 'premium status' to not good enough ('needs modification') so this issue won't be available from iTunes unless something changes. I did nothing different afaik and then made a few changes but to no avail. There are internal hyperlinks in the reviews section. Are they a worthwhile improvement? Let us know, it's a lot of work for no gain otherwise.

Sorted the cover now Jim. I spent an hour yesterday uploading, reuploading after upping the pixel numbers, then reuploading after changing the file type, then reuploading in case I'd made an error. All to no avail then this morning I uploaded the earlier file and no problem. I am now uploaded to the gills. Amazon file up now but 12 hours to 'clear'. Onwards to BS 30 - which marks 5 years of BS. How time flies.

Just uploaded BS 29 to Fictionwise and according to their display Interzone 241 will go live Monday. Presumably BS 29 won't go live for at least another week as the next 'processing day' is October 2nd.

Black Static 30 uploaded to Fictionwise, Smashwords and Amazon. Only Smashwords is live as yet, Amazon tomorrow and F'wise on 13 Nov or 20th. Onward to IZ 242. The Smashwords contents list is overwhelmled by the links to individual reviews, for some reason, whereas the Amazon version keeps them out of the TOC. Anyone who can explain why, so I can correct it, please tell me. Smashwords seems to see any bookmarked words as grist for the TOC.

IZ 242 uploaded to Fictionwise, due date 27/11 but then BS 30's due date was 13/11 and so far no sign.

Interzone 242 now on Smashwords Again the TOC is somewhat unwieldy in the Epub emulator. I'll have to avoid MSWord 'bookmarks' in Smashword files. Fictionwise have announced their demise in December or January depending on location they'll stop operating in every nation and decamp to B & N and specialise in providing E books for Nooks.

This may be slightly off-topic, but I upgraded my Kindle to the new Paperwhite, and I love it to bits. The lighting and clarity is excellent. It's great for reading in bed, for those of us who rarely have anything more demanding to do. Received A-List rating in the current PCPro magazine.
Much as we may hate Amazon's hegemony, this is a fab bit of kit. Buy one for your lover and he or she will leave you in peace.

Took me a little while to warm up to mine, but I read on it all the time now. I love the way the case turns it on and off when you open and close it.

Black Static 31 on Smashwords just in time for Christmas but until Andy sends me a new password for the Amazon account there will be no official Kindle version. PS you can get a KIndle version from Smashwords.
