Finished it today (there were books I had to read for work, slowing me down) and enjoyed it. Pulitzer prize, though?
Looking forward to reading 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet and other stories', now. Need a short story fix now I'm between magazines...

There are lots of books that I am 'looking forward to reading.' I doubt that I will get to read them all, if only because that 'all' gets larger by the week. But the ones I have lined up are Paul McAuley's The Quiet War, his three Confluence books, and van Vogt's first two Null A works. The McAuleys interest me because they connect with my interest in our possible Far Future. The van Vogts grabbed my attention several weeks ago (after having reread the first) by not being cranky at all, contrary to what I've heard and thought since 1959. Indeed, they fit into a quite respectable tradition of modern philosophy. More on this later.

Looking forward to reading Mieville's City and the City, also dying to read Dan Simmons' Drood. Need to get them in before my final Open Uni year starts in October, though, otherwise I'll have no chance...
