Phew! Just submitted. With an idea that woke me up this morning, following weeks of fiddling around with a totally different one. Hmmm....

Wrote and submitted one in an hour flat, with twenty minutes to spare until the deadline. Real fear? I'm scared to reread it.

Yes Jim, but you took at least twenty years getting to the point where you could write the story in an hour flat, or that's what the plumber tells me when he charges £100 for five minutes spent changing a washer so my tap won't drip any more.
Maura reports that they were inundated during the last two days:-

I wrote mine in a rush, it just jumped out in about 20-30 mins. Then I cheated and got help from more experienced people

Ah, if only writers could be paid that much, eh?

Well a few are, but for most being a plumber would be a lucrative career move.
Who was it who said that the most profitable form of writing was ransom notes?

Hah! Answered my own question. It's from the film "Get Shorty", based on an Elmore Leonard story:-
"I once asked this literary agent what writing paid the best, and he said, 'ransom notes.'" .

Can't wait to see the final ten
