I've just heard Colin Harvey suffered a stroke today and is now in hospital. So best wishes to Colin let's all hope he recovers quickly and can get back to writing again.

I heard about it a few hours ago. Our thoughts are with Colin and Kate, and let's hope for a good recovery.

How horrible, and how very sad. I enjoyed his reviews and will miss his writing a great deal.

I've just heard. I never met Colin in the flesh but he was a delight to correspond with. I'm gutted.

[Split from the IZ225 thread, successfully I hope.]
Very shocked and very saddened to hear of Colin's death. It was a pleasure to publish a few of his stories, and read his enthusiastic reviews of everything else we published, and correspond with him occasionally outside of all that. Doesn't seem right.
Condolences to Colin's family and friends, on behalf of everyone here at TTA Towers.

Tragic news. Colin always came across as warm and generous in his writing and blogs, and that will live on. I'm sure the whole Interzone community of writers and readers want to ask that a heartfelt "thank you" be passed on to the family.

I would like to echo Jim's sentiments. I met Colin a couple of times at World Fantasy Conventions and found him warm and funny. This was a terrible shock.

I'm still in shock over Colin's death. He was a great writer, a great reviewer, and extremely supportive of other authors. He will be deeply missed.

This is awful news. I'd chatted with Colin a few times at conventions and he was always warm, enthusiastic and amiable. A sad loss.

Gareth Powell informs me that Colin's funeral will be held at 10.30am on Friday 26 August at Haycombe Crematorium, Bath. The family have said they do not want everyone dressed in black and have requested no flowers. Donations can be made instead to the charity Colin was involved with:

I just heard about Colin's death tonight. It's so sad. He was such a lovely guy. He was one of the first people to make me feel at ease at my first FCon in 2009, and every time I met or emailed him after that, he was always so warm and entertaining and supportive.
My heart goes out to his family and friends. Such horrible news.
