Dug out my old six volumes of Stephen King's 'The Green Mile' for a re-read - still a cracking series, even if I do seem to remember most of the plot with shocking clarity.

Following the recent controversy? discussion? I've started Embassytown. I'm 100 pages in and so far I'm liking it.

Yes, it's set in Spain. Pretty good so far.
I haven't yet dared to read Embassytown, I'm a big Mieville fan, and don't want to be disappointed again, as I was with Kraken...

I love the Carlos Ruiz Zafon novels, The Shadow of the Wind and The Angel's Game. There's a third one due in June - The Prisoner of Heaven. Very entertaining.

The centenary of Stoker's death on Friday, so I marked the occasion by reading "The Lair of the White Worm".
The film is much, much better. Replace Amanda Donohoe with Betty White, and it would still be better.

Finished "Mystery in Spiderville" by John Hartley Williams - no clearer at the end than I was at the start as to what on earth it was about, but enjoyed the language. Also finished the Raymond Chandler collection of three short stories, "Pearls Are A Nuisance", which included his essay on crime writing that was also interesting.
Picked up "A Clockwork Orange" to read at home (already halfway through - why haven't I read this before? It's been on a shelf for twenty years!), and Black Static 28 to read at work.

Finished "The Red Tree" by Caitlin R. Kiernan which was wonderfully weird and spooky, and have bought her book "The Drowning Girl", but have a couple of other books to read to review for "Interzone" first.

I've loved all of her stuff but I've only read stories that featured in anthologies - I'll have to treat myself to something entirely Kiernan.
