The May-June issue will begin to mail out in about a week, perhaps sooner. Contents, images and extracts will soon be on the Current Issue page of the Interzone section. Current subscribers please check the insert in the middle of issue 239 for a subscription reminder and renew if necessary so we can include your new issue in the main mailing. Thanks! Please let us know when your copy arrives, or doesn't, and what you think of the issue generally.

What I think of the issue cover is easy to say right now - it's bloody awesome! Loving Ben Baldwin's Tarot-themed designs.

Brilliant cover, and three of the five stories by women. Is this a TTA IZ first?

There have been a few*, Pete, I'm sure, and one where four of the six stories were by women. (Plenty of two-out-of-fives, and a two-out-of-four recently in IZ238.)
*very few, perhaps, and not enough.

Aha! So you think I'm male, eh? *downs a pint in celebration, belches, and yells "wahey! get in!"*

Interzone 42 was an all-female special issue - seven out of seven stories, I think. But that was twenty-two years ago.

Issue 238 was a 50/50 split I think.

That's why I said 'TTA IZ'. And #240's gender balance is achieved through natural selection, not a case of deliberately running an all-female roster, as I recall was the case with the Pringle.

It's arrived at my college library in Hampshire so hopefully it's waiting for me at home right now. I had a flick through and I'm liking the promotional page for Nina Allan's novelette.
