Very pleased to discover that Ellen Datlow wrote below about FBOCHS in her summation of 2012 in the book entitled THE BEST HORROR OF THE YEAR Vol. 5: “ The First Book of Classical Horror Stories edited by D. F. Lewis (Megazanthus Press) is a fascinating anthology of twenty-one darkly weird stories on the theme of classical music. Many of the stories are subtle and dense. There were notable stories by D. P. Watt, Adam S. Cantwell, S. D. Tullis, M. Sullivan, Aliya Whiteley, and Nicole Cushing.” I understand, too, that there is a review of FBOCHS in the forthcoming BLACK STATIC.

Haven't visited these parts in a while, as my Black Static subscription lapsed and I've not been able to afford to renew it--yet. I've missed too many great stories.
But I had to share that Michael Kelly has accepted my story "Onanon" for Shadows & Tall Trees #6, due in May. Signing the contract today. A lot of you are familiar with S&TT, I'm sure. Really happy to be a part of one of my very favorites.

Thanks, Ray. One of my many thoughts upon the acceptance was that a Black Static author or two might actually read one of my stories. Surreal and cool.

My latest e-book for Kindle is now available from all branches of Amazon (for £0.77 or equivalent). UK: http://amzn.to/16D2zyTUS/RoW: http://amzn.to/1fCFkZkOriginally published in Postscripts #7, Touching Distance is a tense and disturbing science-fictional ghost story, which garnered an Honorable Mention in the Grant, Datlow et al 'Year's Best' anthology for 2006. As with all my e-books, the cover art is by Tony Hughes. http://www.vaughanstanger.com

Demons & Devilry, the fourth anthology in the Hersham Horror PenAnth range, brings you five chilling tales of diabolism and black magic. With their twisted roots buried deep in the works of Dennis Wheatley, these stories reach out to embrace even darker, more horrifying, territory. Tremble with fear and wonder at the depraved imaginings of Peter Mark May, Thana Niveau, John Llewellyn Probert, David Williamson and Stuart Young. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Demons-Devilry- ... 26+devilry

Congrats to the recent good news! Cemetery Dance will be publishing a story of mine in one of their next few issues. CD has been one of my Holy Grails the last couple of years, so I'm thrilled. This will go on my mantel next to my Shadows & Tall Trees sale.

I'm doing a reading on the first day of the World Fantasy Convention, that's next Thursday, the 31st of October at 3pm in Hall 8B, Readings 2 Strand. I'm going to read a mixture of stories and poems and hopefully something funny and suitably Hallowe'enish.
As a shameless bribe, anyone who comes along and sticks out the entire reading can join me for a pint in one of Brighton's pubs like The Mesmerist, or The Druid's Head, or The Pump House, or The Evening Star, or even the convention bar.
Hope to see you there.
Ian

Ian Just a reminder that if you're in Brighton tomorrow at the WFC, feel free to toddle along to Hall 8B at 3pm, as it would be great to see you, and there's a free - pint, glass of wine, coffee, tea, whatever, afterwards. Ian

Why are anthologies important? http://www.sfsignal.com/archives/2013/11/mind-meld-why-are-anthologies-important/ A huge blog issued yesterday. Pleased with Jetse de Vries' choosing, among others, the first five editions of 'Nemonymous'.
