I don't actually watch television anymore, but have quite enjoyed most of this 'young Clark Kent/ Kal-El' series on DVD boxsets. Although it's obviously set in some 'alternative' universe to the big-screen cycle of Superman films, the 'mythology' being created is a lot more intruiguing than expected, and I think the show has improved markedly over the last couple (4th, 5th) of seasons...

Anyone else a fan of Smallville?

Given the corresponding budgets between Superman and Smallville, Smallville walks all over its bigger, more expensive brother. The series is everything the movies (old and new) should have been and weren't. It's a shame WB didn't take the Smallville mythos (including the characters and actors) and create a Superman movie as an extension of and natural conclusion to the TV programme.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Superman Returns, but it wasn't, in my humble opinion, the ultimate Superman reinterpretation I expected given Singer's involvement.

A comic geek aside: Smallville also has my vote for introducing a young JLA - something I believe WB are looking at for the big screen following on from the forthcoming (sadly now without Joss Whedon) Wonder Woman.

Yes loving Smallville. I think the version of Lex is captivating, you never know what he's going to de next, which way he'll twist it, all you know is that he'll do it in his favour! But Michael who plays him does a fantastic job, definataley keeps you coming back for more. I do agree that I think it's better that the new film but they stand apart from each other in so many different ways!
