i'm thinking about subscribing to CW and was wondering about how often it actually came out as the gap between 9 and 10 seemed quite significant.

Sorry Ben, not to have seen your post till now!
I'm tempted to say something like it's not the gaps that are significant, but I won't! CW is supposed to be published twice a year (160-176 pages per issue) but sometimes doesn't quite make it, as you've gathered. That, I think, is only really significant because CW, its type of fiction, is unique, which means that it sometimes takes longer to fill an issue, and readers have said that they'd rather wait (if necessary) for a volume that's true to its word rather than receive one that simply met a deadline.
I have started in earnest on CW11, with three stories accepted so far (Christopher Fowler, Cody Goodfellow, Steve Rasnic Tem) and am actively soliciting others. So this should be published soon. Can't remember exactly when in 2008 CW10 was published, but hopefully it wasn't too long ago.
Obviously CW wouldn't happen at all without the support of subscribers.

Good man.
Btw, just accepted another story for CW11, 'We Are Two Lions' by Luke Sholer (12,100 words). Readers will remember his 'Adjustment' in CW8.
