I'm after News Items for the new look "White Noise", which hopefully many of you will have seen in Black Static #4.
The first column was thrown together at short notice and had rather more of a film bias than we'd like. For future, we hope to have more publishing industry news, and in particular we'd like to promote the work of writers who've appeared or are going to appear in Black Static's pages (the theory being that, if Black Static readers have enjoyed their stories, they'll want to know what else these writers are doing).
Obviously space is limited and we have to prioritise. A drabble posted on a blog is not news, but if you've just signed a book contract or had something optioned for a film then we want to know about it - we may not use it, but we will certainly consider doing so.
I'm signed up to lots of publishers' newsletters, and I prowl the news items on forums such as this, but if you want to be sure I know what you're doing then email the information to whitenoise@ttapress.com

At the moment I'm compiling the White Noise for Black Static #5 with all the news that's fit to print, so if anybody wants a mention then now would be the time to fire off an email to whitenoise@ttapress.com as tomorrow it may be too late.

Just a post to get this back to the top of the board.
I'll be compiling White Noise for BS#8 next week, so now is the time to tell me about your book deals, films options and TV series contracts, or anything else that could be considered news.

Now thinking about making a start on compiling the next White Noise column, so if you have any news, either about your own stuff or, if feeling altruistic, somebody else's work, then please don't be shy about passing it on.
All the usual methods of communication, as listed in the previous post and the one before that, still apply.

Now thinking about making a start on the White Noise bit for the June issue (#10). So come on down all you authors and editors who don't have gazillion pound publicity spends and could benefit from a passing mention in the world's best horror magazine, and let me know what you are doing.

Just a reminder to everyone that my Inbox is always open to news of book releases, signings, conventions etc.
I'm now thinking about the August White Noise column, so anything happening after 1 August is grist for the mill.
The place to send stuff for free publicity in the world's greatest horror magazine (probably) is whitenoise@ttapress.com
As ever, priority will be given to past Black Static contributors, and telling me doesn't guarantee a mention (but you'll never know unless you do).

I'm now thinking of making a start on the August column, so send me your news, if you have anything you wish to share - publishing contracts, upcoming anthologies, film deals, prizes won or nominated for etc.
Don't assume I'll already know (unless you're a publisher and I'm on you're mailing list). Tell me.
You could even be altruistic and tell me about somebody else's news, and bask in their reflected glory.
